There was a fun local walk on Sunday 9th March to raise much needed funds for the Kilfenora community music festival (given the disappearance of council/arts funding). 30-40 people of all ages started from Linnanes pub at 14.00, turning left at the Kilfenora mart to do the loop back to Kilfenora. The weather wasn’t the finest, but spirits were undaunted. Many thanks to all for participating and donating.
A charity walk is to be staged on Sunday 10 March to raise funds for the community hall and festival, given reductions in other sources of funds. The walk will start in Kilfenora Square at 2.00 pm, and will take a route towards Lickeen Lake and circle back via Doon Hill. Good walking boots recommended! The walk is suitable for all ages able to cover c. 8.5 km. John Morgan will be distributing cards for walkers to collect contributors details. Some music will be available in Linnanes pub to greet the returning walkers.
