There were packed and highly appreciative audiences when the Kilfenora Dramatic Society presented “The Diary of Anne Frank” on August 21-22 2015 in Kilfenora Hall.
Put together in just 8 weeks, this production of the play by Frances Goodrich and Albert Hackett was staged in memory of the late Nora ‘The Bridge’ MacMahon, herself an All-Ireland winning actress with the Inchovea Players in “Wood of the Whispering” (1963).
Director Fr Ned Crosby picked a wonderful cast from the local community, as well as a highly effective production team, and orchestrated a production that delivered this tragi-comedy in a most moving way. From 12-year old lead actress Latisha Carr McNamara onwards, every actor and actress was a star.
Latisha Carr McNamara (Anne Frank); Shannon McCormack (Margot Frank); Michael McCormack (Mr Frank); Frances Connole (Mrs Frank): Tomás McCormack (Peter Van Daan); Eion Keane (Mr Van Daan); Mary Buckley (Mrs Van Daan); Adrian O’Gorman (Mr Dussel); Michael Morgan (Mr Kraler): Marion Kelly (Miep Gies).
