A great array of talent assembled at the special charity concert at 8pm in Kilfenora Hall on Saturday 8 March.  Those appearing included

  • The Kilfenora Og Céilí Band – with several of our competitors at recent Fleadhs.
  • Aibhin Holden’s dance troupes – set dancers and Burren Sean Nos
  • Jessica Nea, Ada & Eva Kenny – fresh from winning All-Ireland medals in Derry as part of youth bands; Jessica also did two music sets with her father, Colin.
  • St.Fachnans Choir
  • Linnanes House bandJJ Conway, Cathy McCormack, Anne Rynne, James Devitt, Noel O’Donoghue, Colin Nea
  • Colm Nestor’s pupil group.

This concert, raising money for the Hall and the music festival, reminds us that the Kilfenora Céilí Band was born out of a fund-raising céilí in 1909.
